An evening with Lydia Bright at the Bella Sorella UK Tour!

Myself and Lydia Rose Bright

I very excitedly went to Cabot Circus on Wednesday night for the Bella Sorella VIP event, where Lydia & Georgia Bright gave us an exclusive preview of their Bella Sorella Boutique, over a glass of bubbly! What a perfect girly evening!
Myself and Karen were greeted by the extremely friendly and welcoming Lydia herself as she offered us a glass of fizz. She looked stunning in a cream waterfall dress from her collection and black courts. Surrounded by rails of clothes I couldn't wait to take a good look at her new collection and own label 'Lydia Rose Bright'. From watching TOWIE and knowing Lydia was into vintage and had her own unique style, I knew there would be vintage inspired styles from pretty florals to glamorous lace and prom dresses. There is something for everyone in her collection. Lydia runs Bella Sorella with her sister, the lovely Georgia Bright. Bristol is the second pop up shop location for Lydia and Georgia's UK Tour. The UK launch is in Bristol for one weekend only so go and check it out this weekend!

The Florence Dress from the Lydia Rose Bright Collection is one of my favourites. Vintage perfection.

The Elizabeth Dress by Lydia Rose Bright which is one of her best sellers and comes in Burgundy and Black too. I love the little lace cap sleeves and tulip shape skirt.
The stunning cream drape dress Lydia wore on the night from her collection
Lydia and her sister Georgia in a little black number (The Elizabeth dress) with red heels.

After kindly being asked to kick off the interviews, Lydia and I sat down and had a good ol' chinwag with a glass of bubbly (just my kind of interview). Lydia has that warm persona that makes you feel like you have known her forever and I could have chatted to her all night. I couldn't wait to ask her which her favourite design was in the collection and she told me it was her 'Kitty' dress.
The Kitty Dress

The Kitty dress is a glamorous off the shoulder number with long lace sleeves. I wanted to know if she had always loved fashion and she told me it was always around her growing up. Her mum Debbie (who I feel I know from TOWIE) worked for a fashion house, her Auntie was a designer and her Grandmother also worked in fashion. Knowing she was a lover of vintage and retro clothes I asked her what inspired her designs. She told me she loves vintage detailing, lace, crochet, collars and the way the clothes fit. Lydia has gone for a darker palette for her Autumn/Winter 13 range and glamorous 50's silhouettes. Lydia mentioned ASOS and New Look have already snapped up her collection and selling them on line. She told me she is very excited about the launch and feels extremely lucky and grateful to have the opportunity to have her own label and design her own clothes. She said there are so many talented designers out there who are unknown so she feels extremely grateful. Lydia is very proud of her shop in Essex too and told me I should visit for the ultimate girly experience. I can't wait to!
Lydia also has her own fashion blog which I was unaware of so will now be an avid follower! Follow Lydia's style here www.lydiarosebright.co.uk

SouthGate Summer Social Stylist Winner!

I was really lucky to be chosen to be one of SouthGate's Social Stylists for two weeks this Summer! I was really excited when SouthGate’s Personal Stylist Emmeline Stevens contacted me to talk about my style and love for fashion and then announce I had won! I was really looking forward to meeting and shopping with Emmeline.
I was given a style day challenge to put together two outfits using the shops at SouthGate, one was the 'Big Day' for the perfect wedding outfit and the other was a 'Spring/Summer look of my choice. I was given a fantastic budget of £300 for the wedding and £175 for the Summer outfit which was announced to me on film!

Taking part in Southgate’s Social Stylist challenge was such a fantastic opportunity to share my style with SouthGate. I have to say I was a little nervous on the day knowing that the local on line TV channel, Bath on TV would be filming throughout the challenge, but once we dived straight in to an interview among the crowd of shoppers I loved every minute of the experience and had great fun working with the team.

Here are the two outfits I chose on the day:

I have always wanted a chic tailored dress and this one was like it was made to measure and with such a flattering length. It caught my eye on the hanger but it wasn't until I put it on that I knew I had found that dress. Worn with this versatile little white jacket and teamed with some sexy black ankle strappy heels, I was ready for that wedding!

Jacket - Coast @ Debenhams
Necklace - Ben de Lisi @ Principles, Debenhams
Shoes I chose are not shown in this photograph (see next post)

I wanted a Jumpsuit to be the main focus of my Spring/Summer look. I wanted something fun and very on-trend this season. Topshop had this really cool black one that I was really excited to try on. I am also loving the chunky wedges in the shops right now and they do a great collection so I teamed the jumpsuit with these striking bright blue wedges for a splash of colour. A gorgeous chunky statement necklace was also needed (I love my bold statement jewellery and both Topshop and New Look do a great range) Finished off with this neon green satchel.

Jumpsuits are really versatile and look good dressed up or dressed down. They are great for the evening worn with chunky wedges or for a sexier look worn with heels. Also with our unpredictable British weather it is a handy must have for the wardrobe!

Jumpsuit - Topshop
Wedges - Topshop
Necklace - Topshop
Neon Green Bag - Topshop

The Challenge was a mad rush around but so much fun and lastly it was a mad dash to New Look for those wedding dress shoes we needed to go with the dress! I managed to grab the exact pair I was after before the shops shut! I love ankle strap heeled sandals at the moment and look great with dresses and smart shorts. Check them out in my next post!

As the day came to an end we took advantage of the deck chairs on the lawn at SouthGate in the sunshine for one final film about the day. Exhausted? Yes. Would I do it again? Of course!

And that wasn't the end of it; After my style challenge day, I then had two weeks to takeover SouthGate's Social Media every day to share my style tips and must have Summer buys with the shoppers of SouthGate!
During my two weeks I was on the cover of SouthGate's Facebook and Twitter page and on their Website Homepage! I also appeared on a double page spread in The Bath Chronicle, Bath Life and The Bath Magazine.
The whole experience was fantastic! My last day was really sad as I didn't want it to end, I had the best time!

Watch the video here by Bath on TV to see how I got on with my Summer Style Challenge

And that’s a rap!

Thanks so much to Emmeline and the rest of the team for making the day so much fun!

I got a tweet from the lovely fashion blogger Karen from Mission Style UK last night letting me know she had nominated me for the Liebster Award!

Liebster Award? I hear you ask (I hadn't got a clue either)

Basically the Award is a really great idea! It promotes bloggers so we can be introduced and discover each other.

The rules are simple:

1. When you are nominated you have to answer 11 questions from the blogger that nominated you. The questions will be on their blog.

2. Then you choose 11 blogs to pass the award onto and tweet them to let them know you nominated them.

3. Choose 11 new questions for them to answer.

4. Put all this in your blog.

Here are the questions Karen asked me:

Q1. What's been your best sale buy this season?

My best sale buy this season has been a shift dress by Ben de Lisi at Principles. Shift dresses are my new love, they are easy to wear and can be dressed up or down.

Q2. Flats or heels?
It would have to be heels for the way they make you feel.

Q3. Why did you start blogging?
I moved down to Bath from London and was totally inspired. A friend was a food and travel blogger and kept telling me I should start a blog because of my fashion obsession. Best thing I ever did! Thanks Emma!
Q4. What's on your wish list for the AW season?
A pair of brown long leather dents gloves worn with a ¾ length sleeved tweed coat.

Q5. If you could only shop in one store for the rest of your life, which one would it be?
Crikey that’s tough. It would be between Topshop or Zara.......hmmmmmm............................Topshop only because I wrote it first :-D

Q6. Where do you get your style inspiration?
I’m permanently looking, whether it is from street style, magazines or style crushes. I keep a mental note of what I see.

Q7. Who would you most like to meet in the fashion world and why?
I was lucky enough to meet him and that was the founder of Mulberry, Roger Saul. Such an interesting story of how he got started. Olivia Palermo and Victoria White (Editor of Company Mag) are just a few of the many people I would like to meet in the fashion world. I think Olivia has amazing eclectic style and Victoria White because I love the Company mag for it’s fab content and love of bloggers.

Q8. Sweet or savoury?
I’m a savoury girl. I think I would miss savoury more than sweet.....oh crikey I don't know :-D

Q9. Cocktails and dancing or, quiet meal and a DVD?
Cocktails and dancing of course! Any opportunity to get styling.

Q10. If you could choose a fashion era to style and wear, what would it be?
1940’s - I love 1940's vintage clothes especially the tailoring.I love coats and the 1940's was all about the fitted tailored coat.

Q11. Do you have any weird talents?
I can walk on my knees.......is that weird enough?

I nominate:

Here are your questions guys!

Q1. What is your earliest memory of shopping for clothes?

Q2. Who is your celebrity style crush?

Q3. Marmite - Love it or hate it?

Q4. If you could only take three items of clothing to a desert island what would they be?

Q5. Primark or H&M?

Q6. Favourite catwalk model of all time?

Q7. Velvet, Fur or Lace?

Q8. How did you become a Fashion Blogger?

Q9. Which three fashionistas would you have to dinner?

Q10. What is your favourite item of clothing right now?

Q11. If you could choose any city in the world to shop in where would it be and why?

Thanks for answering my questions :-)

Sunshine and Sebago Shoes - July's County Mag!

At last summer is here! Great day to post my nautical feature in July's issue of The County Magazine, which is out now. Shot the photos for this feature back in May in Portugal which was great fun to do and this was our chosen location in Quarteira, at a lighthouse covered in graffiti.
Boat shoes are in all the shops this season and I love these shoes by Sebago. The nautical trend comes round every summer so it is worth investing in a really good pair and they are really versatile. Whether you are into boating or just for fashion, these are the summer shoe must have.
I am still big into neon brights this season and can't stop wearing this yellow jumper from Zara, which also looks great with skinny white jeans. Check out my feature next month in The County Magazine!

You can follow the County Magazine on Twitter @CountyMagazine and the Lifestyle Editor @emmacdance

Have a Great Sunny Weekend!!
