Dip Dyed Hair!

I took these photos in the car, on the way up to London for a party. I had just had my hair dip dyed and as you can see I was chuffed to bits with the outcome. I am now addicted to dip dye. My colourist Abbie (from Melanie Giles in Bath) suggested I had it more subtle to start with but at a later stage if you fancy you can intensify it and have  a more contrasty effect. I was told you have to be careful not to make the ends too dry though by having it done too much. Because my hair is long and thick and usually all one colour, it gives it more of a lift. I am very happy with it and can’t believe I haven’t done it sooner. The dip dye is an interesting process, I thought you literally dipped your hair in a bucket of dye but that isn’t the case, firstly my hair was back combed all over and then the bleach was applied to the ends. It is an Aveda salon so she always uses Aveda colour on my hair, as well as all the gorgeous smelling shampoos and conditioners. At home I can’t live without the Aveda Brilliant emollient finishing gloss, it tames my unruly locks.
My top fave products at the moment for hair care are in the photo below. I use Aveda Shampure shampoo and Aveda Smooth Infusion conditioner to wash my hair. After I have washed it and it is still wet I work either smooth infusion glossing straightener into my hair right down to the roots or I use Macadamia healing oil treatment (another staple favourite of mine). After blow drying and using my ghd straighteners I smooth any frizzy or wispy bits with the Aveda Brilliant gloss ,which I keep in my handbag at all times incase of any mad frizzy moments during the day.

Happy Dip Dying!
