shhhhhhh! It's a secret.............

Mrs Stokes Presents
'The Secret Tea Party'
Charleston & Cake

Well what can I say, I have just kicked off my dancing shoes and collapsed into a heap on the sofa.
What a sheer delight to have attended this wonderful little secret. A full afternoon tea in Bath with the ladies, vintage style. What better way to spend the day.

Mrs Stokes
Hosted by Mrs Stokes herself we were greeted with smiles and champagne at the top secret location! The atmosphere was exciting with professional dance duo 'Hoppin Mad' in full swing getting everyone in the 1920's spirit.

Best Dressed

Of course the fashion was the main thing on my mind and I couldn't wait to see what everyone was wearing, I wasn't disappointed one little bit. As I glanced around the room there was such an array of fashion. Everyone had made such an amazing effort, dressed in full vintage from all eras. There was a sea of shapes, colours and accessories galore. One lady won the best dressed award for the most authentic 1920's costume 'flapper style'.  We had stepped back in time.

The vintage specialist shop 'Vintage to Vogue' were also at hand giving expertise fashion tips at their stand, selling some of their beautiful accessories from their shop in Bath.
The extremely talented 'Pop up Parlour' also had a stand creating vintage makeovers from any era you should request.

After a full Charleston dancing workshop we sat down for afternoon tea served on Mrs Stokes adorable vintage china. It was so beautifully presented with extremely generous portions of sandwiches and cakes. Nobody went hungry! As well as admiring the china we could actually buy our very own from Mrs Stokes pretty vintage stand also at the venue. A Mrs Stokes tea set was one of the prizes in the raffle along with a vintage fashion gift from Vintage to Vogue, dance classes with Hoppin Mad, dinner for two at The Green Park Brasserie, gifts from Fairy Glass and Very Vintage, all humorously presented by Mrs Stokes and Countess Arseuppi. To conclude the party Muriel Lavender performed a couple of very approriate and funny poems dressed in Burlesque, she had the room hooked and entertained. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day.
